Terms of Use — Maira
Last updated: 14 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Maira. They are written to be read. The parts that matter most are in section 2: Maira is not a doctor, and her AI replies can be wrong.
1. Who we are, and who Maira is for
Maira is operated by Kuracha Sai Srihith, an individual developer, Villa No 53, Aparna Hill Park Gardenia, Chandanagar, Hyderabad, Telangana, India ("we", "us"). You can reach us at srihith.kuracha@gmail.com.
Maira is a wellness companion for women living with PCOS, or who think they may have it, and not a medical service. You must be 18 or older to use it. By creating an account you confirm that you are.
2. Maira is not medical care
Please read this section carefully.
- Maira does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. She does not prescribe, suggest doses, or tell you to start, stop or change any medicine. Nothing in the app is medical advice.
- Everything Maira estimates is an estimate. The daily Bloom score, meal steadiness, nutrition values, cycle predictions and values read from a lab report are approximations. They can be wrong, and they are not measurements or test results.
- Her replies come partly from AI, and AI makes mistakes. A reply can be inaccurate, incomplete or not right for you, even when it sounds confident. Check anything important with a doctor or other qualified professional before you act on it.
- Always confirm what the app reads for you. Before you save a meal recognised from a photo or values read from a lab report, check that they match what is really there.
- Maira is not for emergencies. If you might be in danger, have severe pain, heavy bleeding, thoughts of harming yourself, or any symptom that worries you, contact your local emergency number or a doctor straight away. Maira may show crisis resources, but she cannot call for help or monitor you.
- Pregnancy and insulin. If you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or use insulin or other glucose-lowering medicine, follow your care team's advice over anything in the app.
3. Your account
You need an account to use Maira. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it.
Give accurate information. Maira's estimates depend on what you tell her.
4. The AI features
Some features send what you give them to OpenAI to produce an answer. Maira asks your permission before the first one does, and you can switch AI off at any time in Settings → AI features. The Privacy Policy explains what is sent and how it is handled: Privacy Policy.
We limit how often the AI features can be used, to keep them working for everyone and to prevent abuse. When you reach a limit, Maira tells you and you can try again later.
5. Acceptable use
When you use Maira, don't:
- use it for anyone other than yourself, or to make decisions about someone else's health;
- try to get around the safety features, usage limits or access rules, or use the chat to get Maira to act as a general-purpose AI;
- access or try to access anyone else's data;
- reverse engineer, overload, scrape or disrupt the app or its servers, except as the law allows; or
- use it for anything unlawful.
6. Your content
What you enter stays yours: your logs, messages, photos and notes. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Maira for you, as the Privacy Policy describes. We do not sell it and do not use it for advertising.
7. Our app
Maira, including its design, text, food catalogue and software, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms and the App Store's usage rules.
8. Subscriptions
Maira is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will describe the price and terms clearly before you pay, and purchases will be handled by Apple under its own terms.
9. Ending things
You can stop using Maira at any time. Settings → Delete account deletes your account and everything in it. Settings → Start over erases your data and keeps your account.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 5 or puts other people or the service at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to take your data with you.
10. Availability and changes to the app
We work to keep Maira running and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Features may change, and some may be removed. Parts of the app, such as chat and photo recognition, need an internet connection.
11. Disclaimer and limits on liability
To the extent the law allows:
- Maira is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including that it is fit for a particular purpose or that its estimates or AI replies are accurate.
- We are not liable for any decision you make, or anything that happens, based on information in the app, or for indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability to you for any claim about Maira is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 1,000 if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or removes rights you have as a consumer.
12. Changes to these terms, and the law that applies
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using Maira afterwards, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be heard by the courts of Hyderabad, India, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
13. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. In addition:
- Apple is not responsible for Maira or its content. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app, its maintenance and support, and for dealing with any claim about it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Maira.
- Warranty. If Maira fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Intellectual property. If anyone claims that Maira or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- Legal compliance. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.
